How To Increase In Value

If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.-Booker T. Washington.

Have you ever taken notice of how you felt the last time you gave a beggar some money, gave someone directions, helped a friend out of a sticky situation, or gave someone a jump-start?
Take a moment to think about the exhilaration you felt during any of these incidents or if you have ever helped someone land a job or to get a position that made a positive impact on them. Levels of gratitude expressed by that recipient only enhanced your exhilaration proportionate to the degree of recognition.

Just stop reading for a moment, pause and replay some of those experiences.

Just Keep Walking And You'll Get There

I have told you all this so that you will have peace of heart and mind. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world.-St. John 16:33(LivingBible)

The path may be long and arduous, but continue. You’re going to get caught in the rainstorm and will be confronted with some floods, but it’ll pass over eventually. There is some construction going on, so the road will be ripped up for part of the way. When you get to that part, the path won’t be clear to walk on, but just keep your eyes in front of you and don’t get too distracted by it. Although difficult, stay the course.

How Powerful Is Your View?

Your own mind is a sacred enclosure into which nothing harmful can enter except by your permission.-Emerson
The way we view life has more power in our everyday experiences, and ultimately in our outcomes than anything else.

Struggling With Change

All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is part of ourselves, we must die to one life before we can enter another another.-Anatole France

Change is something that many people want or will embrace whenever there is the slightest discomfort being experienced. This is a perfectly natural phenomena. However, another phenomena exists.

The Game Of Life

Take a chance! All life is a chance. The man who goes furthest is generally the one who is willing to do and dare.-Dale Carnegie

I like to play cards a lot. Some of my favorites are spades, 500 rummy, hearts, and an occasional black jack and poker game does my heart merry.
I’m quite good at some of them, too.  I have realized that the game of cards is all about chance, and managing your chances.  fifty percent of your win comes from the hand you’re dealt, and the other fifty percent of your win comes from being able to play well the hand that has been dealt to you.

Life is much the same way.

The Power To Give Life

Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.
-Mother Theresa

Every one of us has so much power contained in these lips of ours, emanating from our powerful souls. If we can practice releasing at least one kind word a week, every week, we would be astonished at the lives that we could change, inspire, and save.
Some years ago, I was walking down the street about to get on the bus, and I ran into a friend that I hadn’t seen in awhile. He had a bag in his hand, and as he got closer to me, he stopped and sighed as if a burden had been lifted. He said to me,”I was about to drink this quart of beer, and smoke this bag of weed, and go commit suicide. But when I saw you, I realize this was God telling me not to do this.” This man hugged me tightly as we got on the bus together and talked. I decided to miss my stop and be late for my appointment, needing to make sure that he was truly fine. Being late for my appointment for me at that point was not as important as a man’s life and his soul.
The words we speak to people can either heal, and prolong their life and enhance their existence, or it can beat them down, and make them worse than what we already see them as. We, as human beings have the power to release so much love into the earth, that an individual can just look upon us, and receive hope, and strength. We can change dispositions with our words. Create happiness.

Let’s start with little steps. Commit to releasing a kind word a week. Challenge your children, loved ones, and friends to do the same. Mark off those accomplishments. I promise you that it will come back to you.

Staying The Course

“Even a baby keeps getting back on its feet and trying, despite their many falls.”
Keep trying, don’t stop.
